Best media production Mac not announced yesterday?

In light of yesterday's news, which did not present me with any appealing options (both due to cost and connectivity), what is the best Mac for music and video production, without breaking the bank? I would prefer a Mini or iMac, though I'm open to being convinced otherwise. I currently have a maxed out mid-2010 MBP that is dying (verified by Genius Bar) due to a known problem with the graphics card Also, should I be waiting for Black Friday/Cyber Monday to buy?
