Teaching Middle school video production

I'm hoping someone might be able to help me out or at least point me in the right direction.I am going to be starting a video production elective class at my middle school. My principal is giving me a lot freedom but I need help in preparing a "curriculum" for the class. I plan on putting students in groups and having them create their own productions. But I am having trouble preparing maybe a week or so of content to prepare them for actual production.I'm pretty tech savvy, which is why my principal would like me to begin this video production for the school.
