Looking for a camera to get into production

I'm a senior in high school, graduating in a few months, and I'm looking at getting a decent video camera to fit my purposes. I'm not planning on doing all too much with it beyond some simple vlogging in my dorm room, and some infrequent on-the-scene recording.
